It was my pleasure to conduct an Iron-Sharpened Leadership presentation for the Pennsylvania School Bus Association at State College, PA. Special thanks to Keystone Insurers Group for their sponsorship.
It was interesting to find out that most of these school bus companies are 3rd-generation family businesses dedicated to safely transporting precious cargo – our children and grandchildren.
At the conclusion of the interactive presentation for these business leaders, I left them with several takeaways:
Be true to your values and factor your core values into the decisions you make.
Communicate purpose. Purpose is powerful.
Have the courage to make decisions with less than perfect information (Remember Colin Powell’s 40/70 rule).
Leadership comes with risks – manage them.
Keep sharpening Iron (Develop future leaders).
Many of the attendees offered extremely positive comments about the presentation including these:
“John Gronski was the best keynote speaker this convention has had to date, and I have not missed an annual convention in over 20 years. He engaged the audience and provided a powerful message on leadership. I could have listened to him tell stories for another two hours.”
“Best we ever had!!! He was inspirational, educational, and most importantly relevant to our business and us being leaders.”
